Can adults have an Osper Card?

Osper is specially designed for young people aged 8 - 18 year old and has some important differences between a standard bank account or prepaid debit card meaning it might not be appropriate to be used by adults.

Whilst we don’t have any specific limitations on Osper Cards being used by those over 18, there are some important things to be aware of.

Notice: If you are looking for to open an Osper card for yourself, please contact our support team. You can get in touch with us by emailing us on help@osper.com or via the in-app chat.

Spending limits

Because we are targeted at a young market, Osper has some important limits on spending and withdrawals. There are various daily limits and yearly limits that might not make it appropriate.

We are unable to increase our maximum limits at any point, so anyone signing up for Osper should read these thoroughly.

Where Osper can be used

Because Osper is designed for young people, there is certain places where the card can’t be used that you should be aware of. These include;
  1. Alcohol establishments - This includes pubs, nightclubs and off-licences
  2. Betting establishments - This includes casinos, betting shops, gambling websites
  3. Other age inappropriate transactions - This can include anything of an adult nature

Wages and paying money in

Osper is different from a traditional bank account in that it doesn’t have an account number or sort code, meaning that it’s not possible to pay in money with a bank transfer, cheque or BACS (used to pay in wages).

The only way to pay money into an Osper card is using a valid UK registered Visa or MasterCard Debit Card (not prepaid).
